Bizarrap becomes first Argentine artist to play an NFL halftime show

Music producer Bizarrap made history last Sunday as the first Argentine artist to perform in an NFL halftime show, in Madrids Bernabu stadium. Alongside Puerto Rican reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, Bizarrap played at the first-ever National Football League game to take place in Spain, in which the Miami Dolphins beat the Washington Commanders 1613.  Bizarraps set began with an introduction played by the Honduran Banda de Marcha 504s, followed by the first live performance of his collaboration with Daddy Yankee BZRP Music Sessions #0/66. The show also included his breakout 2022 song Qudate, which he recorded with Spanish rapper Quevedo, featured in the BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 52/66.  Bizarraps sessions have been streamed on Spotify and YouTube more than 16 billion times, and he is the first Argentine artist to have three different songs topping the platforms global  ranking. His Session #53 with Colombian singer Shakira was the best-performing Spanish-language debut in the history of Spotify and YouTube. Last year, Argentine rapper Duki, who spearheaded the local trap scene and also collaborated with Bizarrap, became the first Latin American artist to sell out the recently-refurbished Bernabu stadium. This was the seventh NFL game to be played abroad, following matches in cities including London, Dublin and Berlin. The league has confirmed it will play a game in Australia next year, and commissioner Roger Goodell said NFL games will also be played in Mexico and Brazil. The Sunday game in Madrid also featured US-Dominican artist Karina Pasian, who sang the United States national anthem, while Madrids Marine Infantry Group performed the Spanish Royal March.
