Oasis, Dua Lipa, Justin Timberlake, Massive Attack, Kylie Minogue… 2025 is going to be a tough year to top in the international music shows department in Argentina, but 2026 is already gearing up for the challenge. My Chemical Romance has already sold out their February 1 show in Estadio Huracán, a proof of the enduring appeal of early-2000s emo and alternative rock among Argentine audiences. The show marks their return to the country after 17 years, this time with The Hives as their opening act. Rapper Doja Cat will perform her first solo show in our country after her first visit for Lollapalooza 2022. Part of her “Ma Vie World Tour”, in which she presents her fifth studio album, “View,” her show will take place on February 8th at the Movistar Arena. A week later, the Cosquín Rock festival returns to Córdoba on Feb. 14 with a lineup that blends international and local bands. Franz Ferdinand, The Chemical Brothers (in a DJ set) and Devendra Banhart are among the lineup, which includes big local acts such as Babasónicos, Dillom, Trueno, Divididos and Fito Páez. Global superstar Bad Bunny will rule the River Plate Stadium across three nights from Feb. 13-15, as part of his “DeBÍ TIRAR MáS FOTos World Tour”, which began with a historic 30-show residency in his home country of Puerto Rico. Local trap artist Cazzu, who is fresh off her multiple sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena as part of her Latinaje tour — and also a stint as a film actress — will headline the same venue again on Feb. 28. Cazzu and eclectic rapper Milo J will be the somewhat disruptive entries into the long-established traditional folklore festival in Cosquin that runs January 24 to February 1, where the two young artists will join folk legends like Peteco Carabajal, Soledad Pastorutti, and Teresa Parodi. Lolla, Lali and a final goodbye March brings one of the country’s biggest annual gatherings, Lollapalooza Argentina, scheduled for March 13-15. The festival’s huge line-up features pop, hip-hop and alternative heavyweights, including Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, The Creator, Lorde and Deftones, among many others. Lollapalooza will take place at the San Isidro Horsetrack in the northern area of the Buenos Aires province, so if you’re staying in Buenos Aires City, plan your transportation ahead. Later that month, hard-rock titans AC/DC will return to Buenos Aires for three shows on March 23, 27 and 31 at River Plate Stadium. The visits mark the band’s first concerts in Argentina in 16 years, after a 2009 series of three sold-out nights during their Black Ice World Tour that were immortalized in the Live at River Plate concert film and album. Heavy metal legend Megadeth is saying goodbye to the stage, and has confirmed its final show in Argentina on April 30 at Tecnópolis, as part of their farewell world tour “THIS WAS OUR LIFE 2026”. Local pop star Lali will bring her own momentum to River Plate playing June 6-7 after selling out both dates within hours. One of the most popular and outspoken Argentine artists today, Lali’s career has also intersected with national politics, particularly her very public dispute with President Javier Milei. Lali’s comments about his election sparked social-media backlash and derisive nicknames from the president, to which Lali responded creatively with the song “Fanático.” Rosalía returns Spanish singer Rosalía visited Buenos Aires earlier this year to promote her boundary-pushing, record-making record Lux, a multi-language blend of pop and flamenco influences. On August 1 and 2, she will return for two sold-out shows at Movistar Arena to present her album onstage. Rosalía’s short but very active stay in Buenos Aires — where she visited rock legend Charly García, climbed the Obelisco and appeared on several TV and streaming shows — triggered a social media frenzy, with people sharing IA-created Instagram posts together with the pop star across Buenos Aires. October brings two more legends: German punk band Die Toten Hosen on Oct. 10 and Iron Maiden for two nights on Oct. 20-21. A big surprise came on Tuesday as BTS announced their return to Latin America and their first visit to Argentina as part of their next world tour. They will perform in Buenos Aires City on October 23 and 24. However, there is still no information about the venue or how much the tickets will cost. The company in charge of the shows, DF Entertainment, will announce when the tickets go on sale. The tour will also take them to Colombia, Perú, Chile and Brazil during October. Looking ahead to November, Primavera Sound Buenos Aires is expected to unveil a lineup with top-tier artists. Lately, only a few of the headliners from the original Barcelona-based festival make it down to the Buenos Aires version. This year, they include artists like The Cure, Addison Rae, The xx, my bloody valentine, and Gorillaz. The good news is that, even if only one of them gets to perform in Buenos Aires, they have the potential to be this year’s top show.
