Csar Sena and his parents, powerful Chaco political leaders Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acua, were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Cecilia Strzyzowski, Csars girlfriend, in 2023. A jury had found the family guilty of the murder in November by a jury. Now, Judge Dolly Fernndez issued the sentences for the clan, as well as other three people who acted as accomplices. Judge Fernndez read her ruling during an online hearing on Tuesday morning, which the defendants attended from prison. The sentences In November, Csar Sena was declared guilty as author of the homicide, aggravated due to his relationship with the victim and because it happened in a context of gender-based violence. Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acua were declared guilty of homicide as primary participants. Although it remains unclear exactly how Cecilia was killed, the judiciary believes Csar killed her in the Senas home, while his parents helped clear up the crime scene and get rid of her body. Investigators believe the family planned her murder in advance. Cecilias body was then taken to a field owned by the clan, and burned. Three people who worked for the Sena family were also handed their sentences on Tuesday. Driver and private assistant Gustavo Obregn received five years and 10 months for aggravated cover-up. He is accused of moving bags containing Cecilias remains from the house, taking them to the field and incinerating them alongside Csar. Acuas secretary and right-hand woman Fabiana Gonzlez received five years for aggravated cover-up. She is believed to have helped clean the crime scene and coordinate the transfer of furniture that had been splattered with Cecilias blood. Gustavo Melgarejo, watchman of the field, received two years and 10 months of suspended prison for guarding the fire in which Cecilias remains were burned. This means he will not have to go to jail and will remain free as long as he complies with strict behavior conditions and does not commit any other crimes. The judge also banned all the defendants from approaching Cecilias mother, Gloria Romero. You may also be interested in: Cecilia Strzyzowski: the femicide case that brought down a Chaco political clan
