President Javier Milei began a new international tour on Thursday, heading to Spain to take part in the Madrid Economic Forum 2026 and hold meetings with a slew of far-right political leaders and figures of liberal economists. The trip forms part of the international agenda that the president has pursued in recent weeks following visits to the United States and Chile. In the former, he participated in political activities and economic meetings, while in the latter, he attended the presidential inauguration of Jos Antonio Kast. During his stay in Spain, Milei is scheduled to meet on Saturday with Santiago Abascal, the far-right leader of Vox party, and economist Jess Huerta de Soto, a fierce proponent of anarcho-capitalism. Milei will also address the Madrid Economic Forum 2026 and receive an award from the Ludwig von Mises Institute before returning to Argentina on Sunday morning. The trip comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding Argentinas Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni. The controversy first emerged over Adorni’s wife in the official delegations trip to New York. The scandal later intensified when a group of opposition deputies filed a criminal complaint accusing him of illicit enrichment after it surfaced that he had taken a private flight with his family to Punta del Este during the recent Carnival holiday. The visit to the US and Chile President Javier Milei had stops in Miami and New York while in the United States. In Miami, he attended a regional summit known as Shield of the Americas, alongside Donald Trump and right-wing Latin American leaders. Discussions focused on regional security and efforts to fight drug trafficking. He then traveled to New York City, where he inaugurated Argentina Week 2026, an event aimed at promoting investment in the country. During the visit he met with business leaders and financial executives, including Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, and delivered a lecture at Yeshiva University. Afterward, the president traveled to Chile to attend the presidential inauguration ceremony of Jos Antonio Kast, held at the National Congress in Valparaso.
