Hamburger Day Specials Pizzas, specialty coffees, parrillas… of all the different gastro frenzies Buenos Aires experienced in recent years, the sprout of hamburger restaurants was among the most expanding ones. New, great, ephemeral, and not-so-great burger joints took over the city like a tsunami. Now that the waters receded, we were still left with a decent number of fine choices. Our favorites? The longstanding Burger Joint in Palermo, the rougher and enduring Banco Rojo in San Telmo, the new sliders’ heaven Luisa’s in Nuñez, the bulky gourmet burger at the Four Season’s Pony Line Bar, the elegant Guita, and the younger, crowded Kiddo, among others. International Burger Day is coming on May 28 and these are all good ways to celebrate it, but here are a few special offers from some of our favorite restaurants. Narda Comedor May 28Mariscal Antonio José de Sucre 664 For nearly a decade, Narda Comedor, the restaurant led by acclaimed Argentine chef Narda Lepes, has become one of Buenos Aires’ leading spots for seasonal, vegetable-driven cooking and collaborations with local producers. This May, the restaurant dedicated its Comer con las manos series entirely to hamburgers, serving a different version every Thursday using Muge beef blends, Kalis buns and Stella Artois beer pairings. The final edition arrives on May 28 with the Melt burger: double beef patties, fontina cheese, onions, pickles and ketchup served on sliced bread. Somos Asado & Mi Barrio May 28 to 30Somos Asado (Av.
