If you’re new to the city, or are just looking to expand your social circle, you’ve picked the right spot — Buenos Aires has a bustling expat community. It’s an easy place to make friends and you can find an excuse to go out every night of the week.
There are lots of events geared towards digital nomads, however these are our favorites. We’ve been to all of the activities that we included, and we guarantee they’re worth putting clothes on and leaving the house for.

If you’re new to Buenos Aires, it’s one of the easiest places to make friends and connect with other travelers or expats. The events tend to draw a younger crowd, and while it’s primarily foreigners, you’ll find some Argentines there as well.
The Digital Nomad WhatsApp groups associated with this event are a great resource to ask any Buenos Aires-related questions, from travel insurance questions to making plans for that evening.

Meets various nights of the week in different bars around Buenos Aires
Mundo Lingo events are part of an international language exchange held globally. You can get information about the Buenos Aires events in their Facebook group or Luma page. The frequency and location of the events changes regularly, but they typically host several events a week.
While this event markets itself as a language exchange, it’s a very social meetup and you’ll find people there for all reasons (some less language-learning focused than others). There’s a good mix of locals and foreigners at these events, and you’ll find people speaking just about every language under the sun. It’s a very welcoming, approachable atmosphere and easy to strike up conversation with others regardless of if you’re going alone or with friends.

Good Times Buenos Aires organizes different sports and activities that draw a mix of expats and locals. It’s a good option if you’re looking for something different than the typical bar meetup.
The group hosts a Trivia Pub Quiz in English at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings in Baru (José A. Cabrera 4602, Palermo). All of the information, as well as sign-ups for the event are on their Instagram page. Some weeks they also put on a Spanish trivia night on Thursdays in Palermo or Caballito.
A couple of times a month they organize a karaoke night, typically on Thursdays in The Shamrock in Recoleta (Rodríguez Peña 1220).
On Saturdays they host a tag rugby game in the Palermo Bosques — however don’t be scared away if you’re not super sporty, it’s beginner-friendly and a welcoming environment. They typically head to a bar after playing for an opportunity to continue socializing. Once you attend an event you can ask to be added to the WhatsApp group where they post all their plans.

It’s an out-of-the-box social experience where strangers skip surface chat and go into thought-provoking convos instead through guided games and meaningful prompts.
The evening starts off with some lighthearted group games, before everyone is split up into smaller groups and given question cards to talk through with their group. The events are limited to 30 guests, and they balance gender and age in the meetups. You have to register in advance and pay the admission fee, which is about $US10 to $12. The evening is hosted by Epic Llama, a group that organizes these events around the world.

They have socials that take place in a meetup format in bars, where you register beforehand for US$5 and the evening is facilitated with icebreaker activities, and cards that drive meaningful conversation.
The organizers also host other small events and gatherings, like their intentional community walks. Beforehand you fill out a short form and then get paired with someone they think you’ll connect with. The whole group does a walk through several parks as you chat with your partner via the prompts they provide you with.
